Growth occurs in an organized network of walkable centers and downtowns surrounded by neighborhoods. Jobs, education opportunities, entertainment options, and housing units are in strategic nodes that can be easily accessed by multiple forms of transportation. This protects other areas for single-family neighborhoods, agriculture, and open space. New growth is primarily focused west of the lake and into Cedar Valley near Eagle Mountain. This requires significant additional infrastructure, but alleviates pressure to develop the agricultural lands south of Provo. 56,993 acres of land are developed between today and 2050.
